Short Description
The objectives of this online training course are: (1) Provide an overview of key principles of attachment and bonding critical for healthy development; (2) Understand how healthy attachment is facilitated and maintained; (3) Discuss the various ways that neglect and maltreatment influence attachment and learn to identify behaviors associated with attachment difficulties; and (4) Discuss the role of caregivers in helping maltreated children and explore ways to help this at-risk population. This course is divided into 4 lessons with a quiz at the end of each one. Lesson (1) Introduction to bonding and attachment; Lesson (2) Frequently asked questions; Lesson (3) Factors affecting bonding and attachment; and Lesson (4) What can I do to help? This course can be used by professionals to train others involved in early childhood development working with at-risk populations.
