| Backpack Series from the Pyramid Model | The Technical Assistance Center on Social Emotional Intervention for Young Children (TACSEI) created The Backpack Connection Series to provide a way for teachers and parents/caregivers to work together to help young children develop social emotional skills and reduce challenging behavior. Teachers may choose to send a handout home in each child’s backpack when a new strategy or skill is introduced to the class. Each Backpack Connection handout provides information that helps parents stay informed about what their child is learning at school and specific ideas on how to use the strategy or skill at home. This series was developed in collaboration with Pyramid Plus: The Colorado Center for Social Emotional Competence and Inclusion and Bal Swan Children's Center in Broomfield, Colorado. | Website |

| Bonding and Attachment in Maltreated Children | The objectives of this online training course are: (1) Provide an overview of key principles of attachment and bonding critical for healthy development; (2) Understand how healthy attachment is facilitated and maintained; (3) Discuss the various ways that neglect and maltreatment influence attachment and learn to identify behaviors associated with attachment difficulties; and (4) Discuss the role of caregivers in helping maltreated children and explore ways to help this at-risk population. This course is divided into 4 lessons with a quiz at the end of each one. Lesson (1) Introduction to bonding and attachment; Lesson (2) Frequently asked questions; Lesson (3) Factors affecting bonding and attachment; and Lesson (4) What can I do to help? | Bright Futures in Practice: Nutrition | The nutrition guide emphasizes prevention and early recognition of nutrition concerns and provides developmentally appropriate nutrition supervision guidelines for infancy through adolescence. The guide contains strategies and tools to help professionals provide nutrition supervision (including screening, assessment, and counseling) and promote partnerships with families and communities. In addition, the guide presents the latest information on special nutrition issues and concerns such as hyperlipidemia, hypertension, iron-deficiency anemia, eating disorders, obesity, sport nutrition, and vegetarian eating practices.
